Shopra MCP
Your beverage data, inside the AI tools you already use
The Shopra MCP server gives Claude and other MCP clients governed, read-only access to your shipments, depletions, Amazon sales, and trade spend. Sign in once and start asking.
What is the Shopra MCP server?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools and data. The Shopra MCP server is that connection for beverage data: once your team adds it to Claude or another MCP client, the assistant can query your Shopra data directly instead of relying on files pasted into a chat.
Definitions are applied on Shopra's side. When the assistant asks for depletions or trade spend, it gets the same harmonized numbers your Shopra dashboards show, not raw tables it has to interpret.
What data can AI assistants reach?
| Data | What you can ask about |
|---|---|
| Shipments | Orders and shipments by customer, item, and period |
| Depletions | Distributor volume vs last year, depletions by retailer, days on hand |
| Scan | Retail sales by product, retailer, and period |
| Promotions | Promotion calendars and forecasts |
| Trade spend | Planned vs actual spend, settlements, and trade rate against sales |
| Product details | Your products with their codes across every source |
Tools are switched on per organization, so each team sees only the sources it has connected.
What can you ask?
- "How did Amazon do in July, and what were our top 10 ASINs?"
- "Planned vs actual trade spend by month for Walmart."
- "What is our Amazon trade rate by product group?"
- "Which distributors are below three weeks of days on hand?"
- "Depletions vs last year for our top 20 retailers."
- "When did our Kroger deductions settle?"
How is access controlled?
- Sign-in, not shared keys: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Each person signs in with their own Shopra account and can revoke access at any time.
- Read-only: the only scope is read access. Assistants cannot change data in Shopra or your source systems.
- Organization-scoped: every query is limited to the signed-in user's organization.
- Governed queries: assistants call defined tools, not open SQL, with query budgets and rate limits.
- Logged: every tool call is recorded, so admins can see what was asked and when.
- No guessing across sources: products are joined on codes such as ASIN, never matched by name.
Shopra MCP vs connecting AI to your warehouse directly
| Direct warehouse connection | Shopra MCP | |
|---|---|---|
| Definitions (CE, item mapping, trade timing) | The AI has to infer them | Applied server-side |
| Access | Database credentials | Per-user sign-in, read-only |
| What the AI can run | Any SQL | Defined, budgeted tools |
| Audit trail | Database logs, if enabled | Every tool call logged per organization |
| Setup | Credentials, schema docs, prompt engineering | Add a URL and sign in |
Frequently asked questions
Which AI assistants work with the Shopra MCP server?
Claude (web, desktop, and Claude Code) and any other MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth sign-in.
Do I need a Shopra account?
Yes. You sign in with your Shopra account, and the assistant sees only your organization's data and the tools enabled for it.
How do I turn it on for my team?
MCP access is enabled per organization. Ask your Shopra contact or book a demo, and we will switch on the tools that match your connected sources.
Can the AI change my data?
No. The server is read-only. Assistants can query and summarize but cannot create, edit, or delete anything.
What is the difference between Shopra AI and the MCP server?
Shopra AI is the analyst built into the Shopra app. The MCP server brings the same governed data into the AI tools your team already uses, such as Claude, so you can combine it with email, documents, and other connectors.
